Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about Sovereign AI-Grid, our consortium and sovereign AI infrastructure.
Sovereign AI-Grid is a European consortium building a federated network of AI compute factories in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, within the EuroHPC AI Gigafactory programme. We deliver sovereign AI infrastructure as a public utility.
The EuroHPC AI Gigafactory programme (Article 12b, Regulation 2026/150) is a European framework for establishing and financing AI gigafactories. It enables multi-site, multi-country infrastructure with European co-financing.
Steward ownership is a governance model in which the organisation is structurally protected against hostile takeovers and foreign control. No shareholders maximising profit, but stewards safeguarding the public mission. Legal guarantees, not promises.
By placing our compute modules next to greenhouse horticulture, we replace the natural gas that growers use. The waste heat from AI computations heats the greenhouses. Every computation makes the world cleaner on balance.
The consortium consists of four specialised organisations: Man of Solutions B.V. (coordination), Easy Solar Group (energy), SourceParts.eu (hardware supply chain), and Desert.Solutions (engineering). Additional compute-infrastructure partners are being actively recruited.
Visit our partner page at sovereignaigrid.nl/en/partner/ and fill in the registration form. We welcome energy partners, location partners, technical partners, investors, governments and research institutions.
We offer scalable GPU capacity for inferencing, fine-tuning and full-scale model training. Use our calculator at sovereignaigrid.nl/en/capacity/ for an indicative estimate.
Europe depends on American cloud infrastructure for over 90% of its AI needs. Whoever owns the infrastructure determines the values embedded in it. Sovereign infrastructure guarantees privacy, transparency and democratic control.
The Netherlands (primary sites), Belgium (Verviers area) and Germany (in development). A cross-border federated network.
